Work Experience

1992 - Present

  • Worked as management consultant with clients in the private and public sectors, including: Merrill Lynch, Chase Bank, Lucent Technologies, Ford Motor Company Dealerships, Pacific Bell (Private Sector).

  • U.S. Postal Service, U. S. General Accounting Office, Florida Department of Children & Families, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Florida Department of Transportation, City of Jacksonville (Public Sector).

Consultant Work & Expertise with Clients:

  1. Strategic Planning including identifying stakeholder needs and priorities developing a strategic plan to meet critical needs and identifying metrics for accountable champions to measure progress of the plan in achieving those critical needs.

  2. Process Management including;

§      Process flow chart mapping that displays the "best path" for workers

§      Identifying end-of-process and in-process outcome metrics based on customer requirements to monitor the process

§      Developing data collection instruments and management reports to monitor process outcome performance

§      Identifying cause(s) of process variations and developing cost-effective plans to improve process performance

Problem Solving using a  systematic process to;

§      Identify problem(s)

§      Stratify data to separate pertinent from non-pertinent data

§      Analyzing to identify and verify root cause(s) of problem(s)

§      Develop cost-effective plan(s) to address root cause(s) and prevent recurrence of the problem

Consultant Work with the Florida Department of Children & Families:

1.     Worked with Department since 1996.

2.     Facilitated development of a Quality Delivery System for Child Protection and Permanency that includes process flow charts, decision support tools, outcome metrics and management reports (4 year project).

3.     Provided Application Specialist (Blue Belt) training to Department staff.

4.     Provided consulting services to all Program Areas within the Department.

§    1972 - 1992      Florida Power & Light (FPL) Company   

§    1980-1992 – Managed a variety of operations, including Operations Manager, District General Manager and a one year assignment as a Project Team Leader for development of an “Automated” Budget System” for all FPL divisions.

§    1988-1989 – Played an active role in FPL’s challenge for Japan’s “Deming Prize” (FPL was 1st international company to win award in 1989).

§    1972-1980 – Performed various engineering assignments including supervisor.
