Cristobal A. Parra is a
Senior Consultant with PROMAX Consulting Services, Inc. He holds a B.Sc.
(Honors) Civil Engineering Technology, a Masters in Information Systems
Management, and a Masters in Engineering Management from the University of
Ottawa, Canada. Cristobal is fully bilingual, Spanish and English, and has more
than 16 years of experience in improving the quality of business activities by
combining Business Process Re-engineering, Total Quality Management and
Information Technology techniques and methods. He has applied his knowledge and
skills in many countries, including: Scotland, England, Spain, Venezuela,
Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, USA, Hong Kong and Canada. |

He brings specialized expertise
in quality systems, environmental management systems, systems audit, strategic
planning, process modeling, project management, training and the assessment of
information technology enablers for streamlining operational and management
processes. He has working experience in several industries including:
manufacturing, electronics, software, telecommunications, construction,
government, and education.
Cristobal is a QS 9000, ISO
9000 and ISO 14000 lead auditor. He also is a certified ISO 9000 training
instructor. He is certified by the AIAG as a QS 9000 auditor, by the IRCA as a
Senior Lead Auditor and by RAB as an Environmental Auditor.
He is a current member of the
American Society of Quality (ASQ), the Quality Practitioners Association of
Canada (QPrAC), the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), Workflow and
Reengineering International Association (WARIA), and the Venezuelan Bar Code
Association. His name is in the 1996 edition of the International Who's Who
of Professionals.

Mercedez Benz, Allied Signal, and General Motors.

He was responsible, as a senior
manager and consultant, for developing business opportunities, providing
consulting services and leading teams in the assessment of business process

He was responsible for the
implementation of Business Process Improvement techniques to improve various
administrative and operational processes. He was also involved in the
development of Data Conversion and System Transition strategies for the Canadian
Armed Forces. He was responsible for defining and documenting the process of
management and control of operational test releases in an incremental software
development environment. He documented the description of control mechanisms
required to ensure that a particular release is consistent, compatible, and can
be readily integrated with previous software releases.
1985-1992 - Coats Cadena
S.A., Caracas, Venezuela
Responsible for coordinating and
implementing a Business Process Re-engineering project of all manufacturing,
environmental operations, and administrative operations in a company of over
1,000 employees, reducing the "pipeline" of processes from 268 to 189
days. Generated strategic information and systems plans and data management
plans in the area of Manufacturing, Business and Administration Systems. Built,
developed and implemented systems plans for the operations and infrastructure of
the IS department in order to create a high performing business unit, achieving
a significant reduction of dependence on external services. Set a strategic plan
for the use of protocol X25 for telecommunications through satellite and
microwave between countries in Latin America and UK, in order to support
international economic agreements such as the Andean Pact and South Cone Pact,
for exporting and importing goods. Developed several applications in COBOL,
dBASE and Basic/IBM S36 in the areas of Sales, Distribution, Inventory Control,
Accounts Receivable, Production Control, Customer Service, and Purchasing.
Planned and implemented the use of Hand Held Terminals and bar coding for the
process of sales order taking and inventory control, with the result of
improving sales, warehouse and marketing productivity and efficiency up to 250%.

He was responsible for the
analysis, design and implementation of Life and Automobile insurance information
systems. Developed a mathematical model to be used in the calculations for life
insurance reserves.

Developed spreadsheets to
control and monitor the results of the building inspections. Developed
blueprints, land surveying quality services and construction inspection work.
