Fusion Training

Fusion is a new training system developed by PROMAX’s Lean Six Sigma Division that brings together Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt and Champion/Sponsor training into one comprehensive, integrated course of study.

- - Integrated - -

Unlike traditional Black Belt Training courses, Fusion is a holistic approach; the Black Belts are taught alongside the project Champions and Green Belts that will be working with them on their previously identified project. In addition to their training Champions/Sponsors will review the projects and provide feedback with the assistance of the Master Black Belt instructor at critical stages in the training and will assist in removing roadblocks to the successful completion of the project. This method will help ensure open communication between all parties and quick resolution of conflicts should they occur.

PROMAX has found that Champions, Green Belts and Black Belts that go away to “separate” training have a difficult time getting support for their projects when they return.  Fusion will only be taught at the client’s site and during the first two weeks the Black Belts will be training and working on their projects together with the Green Belts. They will be supporting each other under the watchful eye of the instructor and reviewed in class by the Champion.  As the Black Belts start getting into the more advanced tools in the third and fourth week of training, an option is provided to the Green Belts  to attend training on any of these tools that may assist them with the successful completion of their projects. Champions/Sponsors have the same option and may attend the “Management Tools” section of the training as well. The result is a dynamic process that ensures the transfer of the body of knowledge and assistance required for successful project completion.

The business of providing Lean Six Sigma Training is a good one for companies like ours, but the high costs of getting a properly trained workforce is often prohibitive for the client. Training and consulting companies are unintentionally driving clients to experiment before they make a commitment to properly implement Lean Six Sigma, often these experiments are ill-conceived and the company sends a few people to “open enrollment” Black Belt and/or Green belt training, then with no other support in place, they are expected to achieve great things – and they fail. PROMAX developed Fusion to counteract this trend.

A combination of up to 20 Green Belts and 10 Black Belts can attend Lean Six Sigma Fusion Training as well as the project Champions/Sponsors– the total system consists of three days of upfront consulting to ensure projects have been properly identified, measured and the right candidates selected, four weeks of training each separated by three weeks to work on the projects, for a total of a five month program.
